2009 West Australian Spatial Excellence Awards – Innovation and Commercialisation

NGIS China created an advanced planning tool that integrates environmental modeling with 3D and spatial technologies to assess the potential social and environmental impacts of major construction projects in the densely populated region of Chongqing.  The platform used breakthrough modelling product, 3DSee.

 

2008 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards – Innovation and Commercialisation

The online asset and threat-monitoring system, Indji Watch, was announced winner of the Innovation and Commercialisation category in the 2008 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.

 

2008 WA Business News - Rising Star Awards

NGIS was recognised as one of 10 "up-and-coming" businesses in Western Australia with its proven diversification, systems improvement and consistent and strong growth.

 

2007 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards – J K Barrie Award

The Extending the Limits project wins the esteemed J K Barrie Award at the APSEA Awards in November this year - the most prestigious attainment offered by the Australian Spatial Information Business Association.

 

2007 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards – People & Community

Winner of the APSEA People and Community category, in recognition of work by Chief Executive Officer Paul Harris who has supported reconstruction and recovery activities in Aceh, Indonesia, since the devastation caused by the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004.

NGIS was also highly commended in the Western region’s Spatial Excellence Award People & Community category.

 

2007 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards – Spatial Professional of the Year

Chief Executive Officer Paul Harris won the Spatial Professional of the Year Award for his work in Aceh, Indonesia, with the initiative Extending the Limits also winning the esteemed J K Barrie Award and taking first place in the people and community category.

 

2007 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards – Industry & Entrepreneurship

Winner in the Industry and Entrepreneurship category for ioMaps, an innovative map viewing application developed by NGIS Australia for mining giant BHP Billiton Iron Ore.

NGIS was also highly commended in the western region's Spatial Excellence Award 'Industry & Entrepreneurship' category.

 

2006 Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Managing Director of NGIS Paul Farrell was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year for the Western Region in 2006.

Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) celebrates entrepreneurs who build and lead successful and dynamic businesses, recognising them through regional, national and global award programs in over 100 cities and more than 40 countries.

 

2006 Telstra Business Award

NGIS was named as a Western Australian finalist in the Hudson Business Award category.

 

2006 Winner of the WA Industry and Export Awards

NGIS won the WA Industry and Export Awards for the development of ForMS (Forestry Management System), an innovative, far-reaching business management solution developed to meet the needs of Australia's largest agri-business operators, Great Southern Plantations.

 

2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 50

For the second year running, NGIS was recognised in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards. NGIS was one of only four WA companies and the only spatial company to make the grade.

 

2005 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards

NGIS won the Natural Resources category for the development of a computerised forestry management system, known as ForMS.

Also recognised in the awards was the Spatial Interopability Demonstration Project where NGIS' Oliver Looker was an integral team member.

The Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards are the premier awards for the spatial information industry, recognising excellence, innovation and service to the spatial industry.

 

2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 50

NGIS is recognised in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for continuing growth and success while maintaining its strong commitment to research and development.

 

2003 Australian Secrets of IT Innovation Award

In 2003, NGIS won the Australian Secrets of IT Innovation Award for innovative development of the GeoSamba suite of web-mapping products, showcased at the Australian and New Zealand Technology Showcase Conference.

 

2003 Directions Web-Mapping Contest

Winner of the 2003 inaugural web-mapping contest in the miscellaneous category.

 
 

2003 ANZAtech Roadshow, California, USA

NGIS warranted a special mention at the ANZATECH Roadshow in Silicon Valley in 2003, in recognition of technological achievements made by the group.

 

2002 Winner of the 40 Under 40 Award

WA Business News 40 under 40 Award was presented to Paul Farrell, Managing Director of NGIS, as one of 40 top West Australians under the age of 40 excelling in their field.

1995 BHP wins Award for Environmental Excellence

In 1995 BHP Petroleum formally acknowledged NGIS' contribution to the Department of Minerals and Energy (WA), winning the Award for Environmental Excellence (Petroleum Operations Sector).
