Corporate Social Responsibility

NGIS Australia is truly committed to using GIS to contribute to improving the quality of life of individuals and their communities around the world.

We discovered that GIS can play a critical role in rebuilding the lives of communities devastated by war or natural disasters through our experience with setting up the SIM-Centre in Aceh, Indonesia, after the devastation of the 2004 tsunami detroyed the lives of thousands of people.

This award-winning project demonstrated that, by monitoring emergency relief and reconstruction efforts, GIS can play a critical role in rebuilding the lives of people after disaster. But we understand that communities are not just about infrastructure, so as part of this project, the company launched its own not-for-profit charity, the Extending the Limits Trust. The Trust provides funding support to aid the development of economic security and social well-being for families in disaster-affected regions of South and South East Asia.

NGIS Australia is geniune about building meaningful relationships between the sectors we serve and the communities they interact with. Our company ethos is built on the foundation of trust and partnership and we value fair, respectful and ethnical conduct because we understand those principles create long-lasting and positive outcomes for society at large.

There are a number of global projects we have worked on in the past 15 years in developing nations around the world where we have contributed significantly towards local capacity-building, environmental protection and sustainable management of resources.

NGIS understands the importance of working with local stakeholders to ensure that a project is delivered in a culturally sensitive way and meets with local guidelines and laws. We work closely with our client, sharing technical knowledge and providing procedures and training to ensure the longevity of the project.  The transfer of technical knowledge and skills to our clients through training and procedures is a critical element of all our projects, helping to ensure our solution is sustainable event after our team has left.

NGIS Australia also makes donations to humanitarian and emergency relief initiatives, such of that of the Victorian bushfires, and supports selected not-for-profit fundraising campaigns throughout the year.
