Formed in 2003, CRC:SI is a joint venture with more than 50 organisations from corporate, government and university sectors. The CRC:SI uses the collective wisdom of its participants to accelerate the growth of the spatial industry, generate intellectual property, seek efficiency gains for government and better position the research and education programs of universities and other institutions.
In recognition of NGIS’ IT expertise, the company has earned certification on Microsoft’s Partner Program. As a Microsoft Certified Partner, NGIS has demonstrated its expertise with Microsoft technologies and proven its ability to meet the needs of its customers. Microsoft Certified Partners receive many important benefits including technical training and support, giving NGIS an important competitive edge in the marketplace.
NGIS is a member of the Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA), a body representing the spatial business community in Australia. NGIS Managing Director Paul Farrell was the former national Chairman of the SIBA board. Member firms are bound by a code of practice, guaranteeing a high and reliable standard of service. The association and its members have a mission, individually and together, to provide services of the highest quality for the benefit of society.
In 2004, NGIS was integral in starting the SSSI Young Spatial Professionals Australia (SSSI YP Australia). Its main objectives are to raise awareness of spatial science among young professionals and provide young professionals with industry representation. NGIS is a Sustaining Member of SSSI and a proud supporter of SSSI YP Australia
NGIS has been accredited as a signatory to the Government Information Technology Contracting Framework Version 5 in the State of Queensland.
