Founder and Executive Director
Paul has extensive experience delivering GIS solutions in Australia and overseas for organisations including the Australian Government, AusAid, ADB and World Bank. Paul initially studied engineering, after obtaining a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing. In 1992, Paul completed his Masters of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States.
He founded NGIS in 1993 and has seen it grow to become one of Australia’s largest GIS consultancies. Paul has overseen the successful delivery of many large GIS projects for key clients, including the Mine Subsidence Board, Environment Australia, ChevronTexaco and numerous local governments across Australia.
Paul’s interest in environmental and humanitarian work has seen him involved in capacity-building projects throughout China, Vietnam, Tanzania, East Timor and Fiji, developing national strategies for the use of GIS and remote sensing and assisting in the practical application of these technologies.
He is a founding member of WA AID, an organisation developing business opportunities in the ODA market for WA companies, an inaugural member of the WALIS Advisory Committee, past Chair of the WA Chapter of AURISA and sits on the Western Australia Vietnam Business Council.
