NGIS Australia’s experience with Great Southern and Timbercorp provides NGIS with the unique skills to facilitate seamless transitional arrangements for their forestry assets.

Our strong capabilities in forestry assets are underpinned by an operational understanding of both companies, combined with close relationships with users and management.  This makes NGIS a trusted partner for meeting the challenges faced by the new owners of these assets.

NGIS has an intimate knowledge of Timbercorp and Great Southern's farming operations, built through years of closely working with staff and their procedures, and providing all their operational systems. NGIS has taken control of running all day-to-day Timbercorp system and support services for the duration of the liquidation process.

Our experience with Great Southern

Since 1999, NGIS has worked with Great Southern Limited to provide them with their award-winning Forestry Management System (ForMS), and other information services to their estates.

This has included developing IT strategies, supporting and developing spatial information systems, providing satellite imagery and image processing, and training and supporting their internal operational team. By working with them for the past 10 years, NGIS understands their estate and is well placed to support their data and systems.

Our experience with Timbercorp 

Since 2007, we have worked with Timbercorp to create the industry-leading Agrigate forestry management system.  Agrigate allows Timbercorp to manage its land and estate data, operational budgets and associated works management by providing a complete tool for precision tree-farming needs. The system can also be expanded to cater for horticultural requirements.

In August 2009, Timbercorp’s liquidator, Korda Mentha, assigned full responsibility for all Timbercorp IT services to NGIS.

Through all of this work, NGIS has developed a team of professionals with a thorough understanding of forestry and horticulture operations. We can engage with your business on all levels, from senior management right through to individual tree farm supervisors, to provide seamless and integrated IT services.

Initial Transition Services

NGIS can manage the initial transition and migration of data and systems to new plantation owners, as well as providing ongoing technical support for these systems.

This will include all estate and farm information, as well as budgeting and operational history.
NGIS can provide a full spectrum of these services.

Options include:

• The most complex: all forestry information (data, documents, etc) is extracted from the current systems and repositories enabling this information to be converted and uploaded into your existing IT systems and infrastructure.
• The simplest: all of the current Forestry applications, systems and infrastructure (hardware and network) are transferred to you as a whole.
• Or any combination between the above scenarios.
