NGIS places a high priority on its international development work.
We have successfully developed GIS solutions for clients in Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brunei, China, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Ghana and Tanzania. These projects have been financed by AusAID, the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, European Commission, NZODA and Danida, as well as many private multi-national companies.
NGIS has built a team of international and Indonesian national experts to establish the Spatial Information and Mapping Centre (SIM-Centre) in Aceh. The SIM-Centre ensures those working on reconstruction activities have adequate and reliable spatial information to help support their planning and operations.
As part of this project, NGIS set up Extending the Limits, a not-for-profit charity that works on-the-ground to restore economic security and support the social well-being of families in disaster-affected regions in South and South East Asia.
NGIS understands the importance of working with local stakeholders to ensure that a project is delivered in a culturally sensitive way and meets with local guidelines and laws. We work closely with our client, sharing technical knowledge and providing procedures and training to ensure the longevity of the project. The transfer of technical knowledge and skills to our clients through training and procedures is a critical element of all our projects, helping to ensure our solution is sustainable event after our team has left.
NGIS has a well-deserved reputation throughout the Asia-Pacific region for delivering projects on time and to budget. We are also quality assured to international standards ISO9001:2000.
