NGIS Training hosts international training workshop for GeoSamba in Perth

The 3-day workshop, developed and coordinated by NGIS Training Manager, Nathan Eaton was tailored to meet the specific needs of three of our key software resale agents, Waindo SpecTerra from Indonesia, Geomatika Technology from Malaysia and Opentech Systems, also from Malaysia.

The training focused on changes to the practical application, user interface and back-end administration functionality for the new GeoSamba v2 software - to be officially released in a live demonstration at the WALIS Forum, Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre on 12-14 March 2008 (www.walis.wa.gov.au/forum).

Actively supporting NGIS’ strategy to expand into new markets in the Asia Pacific region, the course was designed to ensure our business partners left equipped with the tools needed to broaden GeoSamba’s reach within the growing Malaysian and Indonesian marketplaces.

The sessions also gave our Malaysian and Indonesian visitors a rare opportunity to talk face to face with developers and key technical contacts from the NGIS Australian team including Siaolin Kek, Roland Lockhart and Ross Hill.

“It was great to see everyone make such an effort in terms of prioritising their time to meet with and present to our visitors,” said Training Manager Nathan Eaton.

“The final day of training was especially useful as it was presented in a series of success stories by the NGIS team including Adam Hender, Kim McCoy, Chris Devlin, Nathan McAullay and Mark Carniello. They were able to share these specific experiences with our visitors with the aim of helping them devise their own approaches to assist existing and potential clients back home,” he said.

The Malaysia and Indonesian markets represent a huge growth opportunity for NGIS Australia and support NGIS’ overall strategic objective to become Asia Pacific’s leading provider of spatial information technology.

The Malaysian market in particular is developing at an astounding GMP rate averaging 8% annually. Following the Government’s directive to move towards becoming a totally e-government by 2020, the Malaysian spatial industry has been sent into overdrive.

NGIS offers complete training courses on products including Geosamba to equip our staff and business partners with the skills required to leverage the full potential from the product.

GeoSamba v2 is now shipping to customers across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
