NGIS a Finalist in 2008 International Business Awards

NGIS Founder, Paul Harris, has been recognised for his work in Aceh and for the international work undertaken by NGIS throughout South East Asia at the 2008 International Business Awards ceremony at Government House last night.

Paul was one of 13 finalists across four categories, representing companies from Western Australia that have contributed to increasing the State’s export revenue and spreading goodwill throughout the region. 

Paul was recognised as a finalist in the International Business Award category, which is for an individual who has made a significant contribution to international business, benefitting Western Australia.

Over the past ten years, NGIS has worked on a variety of projects in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, East Timor, PNG, Mongolia, Cambodia, Fiji and Malaysia. 

Paul’s efforts in Aceh included the establishment of a GIS Centre providing free maps and data to organisations involved in tsunami reconstruction projects and the establishment of a Trust (Extending the Limits) to help families and communities recovering from disasters.

The awards were presented at a gala event that brought together Perth's business leaders and media for a celebraiton of excellence in Western Australia's business community.

The awards is organised by the International Business Council (IBC).
