The City of Geraldton and the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes have recently commissioned NGIS to install GIS solutions for the Councils.  The solution revolves around ArcView and a MapObjects interface to each council’s property and asset databases. 

The interface provides easy access to corporate data by clicking on a property.  “We are seeing an upsurge of interest by councils,” explained Managing Director, Paul Harris, who has been kept busy undertaking GIS Needs Analyses for a number of councils.  “The increased interest is due to the fact that the price of software has come down, more data and applications are available and there is a growing awareness by senior council staff of how GIS based solutions can improve efficiency and customer service.”
