The Peregrine Project will break new ground in the mainstream use of maps as simple graphic doorways to corporate databases.

The Peregrine Project will enable any size business to integrate and spatially analyse its information. It will provide a system for mapping customers, assets and other data across the Internet enabling users to view maps of their own information and share ideas with only a simple web browser. Geographic business workflow applications will enable decision support via a corporate Intranet or public Internet.

Over the next 18 months Peregrine will deliver a suite of innovative Internet mapping solutions featuring a rich variety of user interfaces, decision support tools and base-map data packages.

Peregrine mapping solutions, while using a common state-of-the-art core engine, will be carefully tailored for specific industries. The Peregrine core engine will be highly secure, customisable and low-cost. Each solution will incorporate industry specific knowledge, terminology, decision processes and base-maps into a product that can be rapidly deployed.

By offering Peregrine solutions on both a corporate and a hosted platform with flexible licensing models, NGIS will improve small business access. The market vision for Peregrine is  open access to spatial decision support technology to any size business.
