Chris Hoar: ‘In both these projects, we are using 3D modeling to better illustrate environmental information. Government here have fully embraced this technology and realise that it can be used to help promote Continual Public Involvement (CPI) and stakeholder engagement throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure projects’.
‘The great thing about 3D modeling is that by making proposed changes ‘visual’ the community gets a better understanding of the potential impacts a project may have on their current situation, for example, the construction of a new building and allows them to provide Government with more valuable feedback,’ Chris said.
While 3D modeling assists in demonstrating a proposed development to the public, it also adds value in project planning. 3D modeling allows planners to conduct a full ‘visual analysis’ that’s not possible with 2D GIS. The ability to control the height and colour of buildings, land elevations, vegetation and roadways provides a true picture of how a proposed development will look and allows planners to more accurately assess issues such as visibility and air flow activity.
NGIS China are also working on a number of projects within the tele-transmission industry and for various corporate clients wishing to develop video projects requiring 3D animation and motion graphics.
