3DSee

3DSee® is an intelligent 3D modelling system that creates a multi-faceted visualisation of the physical environment onto a simple web-enabled interface, providing a platform to assess a range of impacts of proposed construction projects.

The application allows advanced data interrogation and customisation of layered datasets, allowing multiple scenario-based inquiries into the impacts like noise, water quality and air quality of major construction projects. The degree and spread of impacts are automatically visualised, providing a clear and immediate indication of the potential effects of construction on neighbouring populations, before construction begins.

Advanced visualisation

3DSee® creates a virtual world where users can experience the physical environment as it existed ten years ago, as it looks today, or how it may appear in future. The visualisation of past, present and future scenarios is achieved by combining complex environmental data with accurate 3D models of urban landscapes.

Once a ‘virtual city’ is created, different scenarios can be tested and its impacts
visualised almost instantaneously. The system intelligently synthesises volumes of raw data and creates a realistic picture of the breadth and intensity of different environmental and social impacts.

For example, if a new skyscraper is to be built in a densely populated city in China, 3DSee® will not only allow you to see the height of the building facade in relativity to its surroundings, but will model how emissions from nearby roads will affect buildings within a geographic radius.

Industry applicability

3DSee® can also intelligently analyse impacts to other variables like air and water quality and can also be custom developed to support industry specific information such as testing the signal strength and coverage of teletransmission networks.

3DSee® addresses a growing need in the development industry from multiple types of professions – from engineering and construction planners to stakeholder relations and public communication strategists. The combination of complex data with spatial information provides an instant visualisation of a proposed development, allows for social and environmental variables to be forecasted and planned for.

The application allows users to improve on the type, plan the extent and timing of information available to various stakeholders and achieve creative problem solving. Visual integration of disparate 3D data using internet technologies makes it possible for exploration and mining companies to better interpret exploration, mining and operational data.

3DSee® allows for complex 3D spatial data to be combined with business specific tasks and information, and can be to be conveniently managed, maintained, and accessed over a web browser, allowing low cost deployment and ease of use.

This application can be used to improve the quality of life, to prevent or mitigate damage or negative environmental impacts of large-scale construction or mining project.
