In an industry heavily regulated by food processing and environmental standards, coupled with the large number of assets and commodities used to maintain crops and herds (often across multiple sites), the ability to accurately track and manage operational data is critical to success.
Achieving maximum value from spatial technology in agribusiness extends well beyond a simple geographical information system. Integrating spatial technology with your other business systems, such as accounting and environmental procedures, will greatly enhance your operational awareness, allowing you to more accurately track costs and better plan for the future.
NGIS’ in-depth knowledge of the agribusiness sector allows us to add value at every stage of your product’s life-cycle.
There are numerous services we can offer the agribusiness sector, to help manage assets efficiently, sustainably and in accordance with relevant regulations and environmental standards.

Common uses of MXD Copier are packaging maps and their referenced data for:
- Sharing maps with other users.
- Moving maps to different locations internally or externally (e.g. for offsite field use).
- Archiving maps and data.
- Copying maps to CD or DVD.
Indji Watch
Indji Watch is the world’s first web-based hazard monitoring system that delivers real-time analysis of risks and hazards against the physical location of fixed or mobile assets. The system initiates intelligent actions and warnings when assets are under threat.
This is particularly useful for the agribusiness sector, where assets and infrastructure are typically spread over a large geographical distance and natural and man-made hazards pose a risk to the lives of employees. These threats need to be monitored continuously and simultaneously.
Indji Watch monitors the following natural threats 24 hours a day, seven days a week:
- Weather
- Lightning strikes
- Rain, hail, snow
- Storm and severe weather alerts, including predicted storm paths over one hour in 10-minute intervals
- Earthquakes
- Emergency services incidents
- Fire-fighting services
- Major disaster response coordinators
- Bushfires via satellite
- Tsunamis
Alert messages can be sent via SMS/MMS text, email, pager, instant messaging services such as MSN (Microsoft Network Messenger), fax or voice message, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) and mobile field terminals.
By enabling on demand monitoring and early warning of risks, this product helps agribusinesses reduce the risk of injury to employees, as well as loss and damage to assets.
