NGIS provides a range of consulting and technical services to the burgeoning Australian water industry and is working with high profile clients, including the Water Corporation of Western Australia, to develop and implement new solutions for the management of our most precious resource.
NGIS delivers the key tools, which can be implemented across strategic business processes, to enable the management of water-related data and to provide essential decision making support for all levels of management.
In Australia, water is high on the public agenda both from a water rights and water conservation point-of-view. John Howard has announced a $10 billion spend for water over the next ten years and as the economy grows, pressure on water resources increases exponentially developing the need for a more sustainable approach to water management.
NGIS has already contributed its skills by compiling the architecture for AWRIS (Australian Water Resource Information System), which proposes to establish a National Enabling Framework and a related Water Tool Set for use across Australia. This aims to be a one-stop-shop for water information, with work undertaken in partnership with the WRON Alliance (Water Resource Observation Network), supported by the CSIRO.
