Sat vs Radar

The image on the left displays a comparison between LandSat (left) vs SAR (right) imagery of the Safsaf Oasis in southern Egypt. As can be seen, the L-band has penetrated up to 2m of sand to show underlying geology such as paleodrainage, regolith and lineaments. Click for a larger view.
