CSC and NGIS Australia's Strategic Partnership

In June 2004,  leading IT company CSC and NGIS Australia formed a strategic partnership, bringing together CSC’s technololgy solutions and NGIS’ specialist expertise with spatial technology.

The partnership between NGIS and CSC combines CSC’s best-practice technology services and solutions with NGIS’ skills and technology to deliver value for joint customers.

With core capabilities in the areas of IT outsourcing, systems integration and consulting, CSC provides deep industry
knowledge, management and technical expertise to the partnership. The size and global nature of CSC gives the partnership the scale and experience to assist clients with their unique challenges and opportunities.

NGIS’ position as Australia’s leading GIS, remote sensing and web-mapping consultancy means that specialist skills can be provided in a flexible, as-required manner enabling the partnership to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions
combining spatial information and technology with traditional IT solutions.

The NGIS - CSC partnership is focused on applying the leading GIS and technology skills of each organisation to manage and maintain legacy systems and develop new applications for the Department of Land Information (DLI).

Areas the partnership is working in include GIS and IT system design and integration, GIS and business analysis and GIS and IT applications software development and support.

By teaming the niche GIS skills of NGIS with the technology solutions of CSC, the partnership is able to:

  • mobilise a broad range of GIS and IT skills to support the many different business requirements
  • provide flexible and timely services to the various business areas of DLI
  • leverage the knowledge accumulated though the successful completion of hundreds of information-related contracts in a wide range of fields
  • assist DLI in focusing its GIS and IT investments on the real needs of the business
  • enabling more effective communication between DLI and its GIS and IT functions at a strategic level
  • ensuring that the GIS and IT function of the business plays an appropriate role in creating value within DLI.
