Water Scores is an innovative performance benchmarking tool built specifically for the Water Corporation of WA. It monitors, evaluates and reports on the performance of the Water Corporation’s multi-million dollar portfolio of major infrastructure projects and engineering industry alliances.
The secure web-based application utilises an exclusive methodology, based on the Australian Business Excellence Framework, to assess each program of work against more than 150 benchmarks across 6 sustainability categories including economic, social, environmental, ethical, stakeholder and governance criteria.
Developed for the Water Corporation of WA, the WaterScores system compares the performance of the Corporation's engineering industry alliances and major capital works projects across six categories of sustainability.
The secure online survey monitors 150 different benchmarks which reflect the Water Corporation’s indices for economic, social, environmental, ethical, stakeholder and governance performance, using a methodology founded on the Australian Business Excellence Framework. It has been through a strategic partnership between Creative Nature Communications and its long-standing client Projenco.
Water Scores collects data at both a project and alliance level and reports the trends graphically via dynamic radar graphs. Custom-built content management tools enable the system administrator to control all facets of survey publishing, user management and reporting.
Alliances and relationship contracting are growing as a vital plank in the Water Corporation’s infrastructure delivery strategy, assisting the business to access private industry skills and resources on a shared risk and reward basis.
“Water is a ‘forever’ business, so the Water Corporation has adopted a sustainable way of doing business to improve outcomes for employees, stakeholders, business partners and the communities in which we operate,” said Planning and Infrastructure General Manager Sue Murphy.
“This approach can only be effective if we are able to continuously measure the performance of the programs of work being undertaken by both the Water Corporation and our partners.”
“Our objective in implementing this benchmarking program is not only to seek improvement over time but also to enable us to determine the most appropriate models for project delivery in the future.”
Creative Nature has successfully leveraged its track record in road construction alliancing to build strong ties with several of the Water Corporation’s industry partners.
